Cameraless Photography

Having been raised under the tropical sun of Rio de Janeiro, I have always felt most at home living by the beach. But sadly, in 2022 I was diagnosed with skin cancer. While undergoing treatment for sun damage, I found great inspiration using sunlight to create these images. Being able to be in the sun again and making these images has brought me great joy inspiration.

My choice of subject is always plants and flowers that are of significance to me. By placing them on photo paper and exposing them to the sun and weather for days at a time, I am able to create the lumen prints for this project.

Through this cameraless process I am able to capture the aura of these plants and flowers.
